INTIMATE NAKED - Glenn Rudolph, Alexis Courtney, Anonymous
March 1st - 29th, 2014
First Thursday, March 6, 6-8 pm
Prole Drift is pleased to present INTIMATE NAKED, a group show of photo images exploring the intimate nude. The participating artists include esteemed Seattle photographer Glenn Rudolph, Bay Area artist Alexis Courtney, and anonymous works.
As the art world and the internet have been expanding the visibility of the nude, we've moved into a time when the private vision of intimate experience is being shared in new and dynamic ways. Many of us grew up in a period when the viewing of these uncensored moments was hidden. These artists present their subjects in a straight-forward way, at ease with their naked directness.
Seattle-based photographer Glenn Rudolph has shown extensively and his work is in numerous important collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Amon Carter Museum, Fort Worth, Texas; and the Library of Congress, Washington DC. His work appears courtesy of SEASON.
Alexis Courtney is a multidisciplinary artist working in photography, video, and installation. Recently, her work has been exhibited at the Pacific Film Archive in Berkeley; Queens Nails Projects in San Francisco; and United Photo Industries in Brooklyn, NY.
